We recognize many capable students in Wyoming who lack the financial means to continue their education. The Wyoming Elks Association helps by providing annual student scholarships so motivated, hardworking youth can pursue college, university, or vocational training.

Each year the Wyoming Elks Association distributes a total of $20,000 in scholarship funds to residents of Wyoming. Deadlines for the various awards fall between March 1 and April 1. Eddie Ashley was a student of Doris Ahlsten at Oakland Technical High School and graduated in 2010. As a child, Eddie and his twin younger sisters lost their mother to lupus and kidney failure. The family’s loss led to the siblings moving among relatives, and at one point Eddie became separated from his sisters. Throughout these hardships he carried himself without complaint or excuse.
