Each year SEMA awards scholarships to help students cover college tuition. Applicants from any academic or technical background that can lead to a career in the automotive industry are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility

Starting with the 2026 awards cycle, the Barron Prize application has been redesigned into a two-stage process. All applicants must first submit a brief pre-application (Step 1). The AFSA Scholarship Program awards college support to children of American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) members whose parents are or were Foreign Service employees. The program distributes financial aid scholarships for undergraduates and presents graduating high school seniors with academic merit awards, art merit awards, and a community service award. These activities are funded entirely through gifts and bequests from the Foreign Service community—no AFSA membership dues are used.
