Introduction
We are proud to sponsor the Utah Trappers Association (UTA) scholarship program. Each September at our convention we present two scholarships of $1,000 each. The award is intended for students enrolled in a college program, with preference given to majors tied to Wildlife Conservation and Environmental studies. There is no age limit; anyone seeking to continue their education is eligible to apply.
Important deadline
Applications for the 2026 scholarship must be postmarked by August 1, 2026.
Eligibility
To qualify for the UTA Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled in a college program (preference given to those studying Wildlife Conservation and the Environment).
- Not have previously received a UTA Scholarship.
- Be a UTA member or a direct relative of a UTA member.
- There is no minimum or maximum age requirement.
Required application materials
Submit the following items together (the UTA Scholarship Packet should be included):
- Completed application form (UTA Scholarship Packet).
- A copy of the college acceptance letter or proof of current enrollment.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- An official or unofficial copy of your transcripts.
- An essay of at least 500 words covering:
- Your conservation philosophy concerning wildlife as a renewable resource.
- How you plan to contribute to wildlife conservation efforts.
- Any other relevant supporting materials (for example: awards, honors, or certificates).
Selection and award
Two recipients will be chosen and announced at the UTA convention in September. Each winner will receive $1,000.
