Overview
Branson Veterans of America 913 will award two scholarships of $1,000 each under the William Groninger Scholarship program to assist deserving students pursuing post‑secondary education.
Eligibility
- Must be a high school senior enrolled in a Stone County or Taney County school.
- Must have (or have had) a relative, living or deceased, who served in the military.
- Intend to enroll in a post‑secondary institution (university, four‑year college, junior college, vocational‑technical school, or trade school) and pursue an associate or baccalaureate degree or a certificate of completion.
- This scholarship is a one‑time, non‑renewable award.
Required Application Materials (complete packet must be postmarked by February 25, 2026)
- Completed application form. (Available from your school counselor or via the application link.)
- A typed essay of at least 500 words titled "What the 250th Anniversary of Our Country Means To Me".
- A letter of acceptance from the institution you plan to attend, or a list of institutions to which you have applied (note: the award will not be issued until acceptance to a school is verified).
- Official high school transcript showing credits through the first semester of the senior year.

All application materials must be submitted and postmarked no later than February 25, 2026. Applications received after that date will not be considered.

Selection Timeline
- Scholarship Committee review: March 7, 2026.
- Top ten applicants notified: March 21, 2026.
- Finalist interviews with the Scholarship Committee: March 28, 2026.
- Winners notified by: April 11, 2026.
- Award presentation: April 27, 2026 at the BVA 913 meeting (winners’ schools will also be given the opportunity to schedule presentation at the school honor assembly when date/time are provided).
Award Disbursement and Attendance Requirement
- Scholarship checks will be sent directly to the recipient’s post‑secondary institution after enrollment and attendance are confirmed. Applicants must provide the name and address of the institution.
- Winners MUST be available to attend the Branson Veterans of America 913 meeting on April 27, 2026.
