NATAS College/Graduate Scholarships

Overview
The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of NATAS supports students throughout our region. Through the Foundation of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of NATAS (a 501(c)(3) organization), we award up to $36,000 in scholarships each year. In addition to college and high-school award programs, the Chapter runs an active Junior Board composed of students and emerging professionals.
Important deadline
Regular application deadline: Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Who is eligible
You may apply if all of the following are true:
- You are enrolled at an accredited college or university located within the Chapter’s ADI (area of dominant influence) for the television markets listed below, OR your primary residence (home address) is within that ADI, OR you are a relative of a member in good standing of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the Television Academy.
- As of the fall term of 2026 you will be a senior in a bachelor’s degree program, or you will be enrolled in a graduate degree program for that term.
- Your course of study clearly supports your intention to pursue a career in the television industry.
Television markets covered by the Chicago/Midwest Chapter: Chicago, IL; Peoria–Bloomington, IL; Rockford, IL; Green Bay–Appleton, WI; Madison, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Wausau–Rhinelander, WI; South Bend–Elkhart, IN.
Application process and instructions — please read everything carefully
- Read the entire set of instructions before beginning. The PDF version of the scholarship application contains a summary of eligibility and program purpose; review it so you can confirm you qualify before completing the online form. Do not complete the application if you are not eligible.
- You cannot save and return to the online application. Before starting the online form, download and print the PDF application, complete all answers offline, and assemble all required attachments.
- Only begin the online form after your answers and documents are finalized. You will need to copy-and-paste your responses into the online form and upload attachments in a single session.
Submitting transcripts and letters of recommendation
- Attach transcripts and recommendation letters through the online application or have them emailed to Rebekah Cowing at rcowing@emmyonline.tv.
- If your school has a process for sending transcripts directly, they may email them to rcowing@emmyonline.tv or contact us about an online upload option.
