Steckol and Stanley Awards

Eligibility Criteria for KSHA's Steckol and Stanley Scholarships:
To be considered for the Steckol and Stanley Scholarships offered by KSHA, applicants must meet the following prerequisites:
- They must be currently enrolled in a program for speech-language pathology or audiology.
- They must provide a transcript that confirms their GPA and program enrollment (no minimum GPA is specified).
- They must have a proven record of academic excellence at the doctoral, graduate, or undergraduate level.
- They must demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
- They must hold a current student membership with KSHA.
- They must have well-defined professional objectives and a clear philosophy.
- They must provide two letters of recommendation.
Documents Required for Application:
Applicants must submit the following materials:
- A completed application form, which can be filled out and submitted online or printed and mailed.
- A transcript for verification of GPA and enrollment.
- A current résumé detailing academic achievements, employment history, and relevant experiences.
- An essay of 250 to 500 words discussing their financial need, professional philosophy, and future career goals in SLP or Audiology.
- Two recommendation letters from faculty members on school letterhead, addressing the applicant's financial need, academic preparedness, and/or potential for research.
Responsibilities of Scholarship Recipients:
Those who are awarded the scholarship must fulfill the following responsibilities:
- They must write a brief article for the KSHA Communicator, describing the impact of the award and how they utilized it.
- They must upload all necessary supporting documents at the time of application submission.
- A single application will be evaluated for both the Steckol and Stanley Memorial Fund Scholarships, so there is no need to submit separate applications for each.
