Kellam, Weaver-Fagan and Hastee Educational Scholarships

Introduction The Kellam, Weaver-Fagan & Hastee Educational Scholarships were established by order of the Circuit Court for the City of Hampton (Chancery No. 31689) and have awarded financial support to Hampton public school students since 1993. The trust’s purpose is to assist students who combine strong academic performance with meaningful service to their school, neighborhood, place of worship, family, and/or the City of Hampton. The program encourages recipients to consider returning after graduation to contribute further to the community. The Scholarship Selection Committee welcomes applications from students who satisfy the eligibility requirements listed below. A note of appreciation Thank you for your interest in this scholarship. We wish all applicants the very best. Eligibility and requirements 1. Must be a senior enrolled at one of the following City of Hampton high schools: Bethel, Hampton, Kecoughtan, or Phoebus. 2. Must be a prospective June graduate. 3. Must plan to matriculate at an accredited Virginia four-year college, university, or an accredited nearby community college. 4. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher. 5. Must be able to show a strong commitment to community service and helping others. 6. Must demonstrate financial need for college attendance. Award information The total scholarship award is $8,000, disbursed in semester installments of $1,000 each. The award amount may change from year to year, and the scholarship may or may not be renewable for future academic years.
