Procedures
The Ohio CattleWomen’s Association administers the scholarship program and may award scholarships annually or at its discretion. Awards are distributed according to the association’s established procedures and the decisions of the appointed scholarship committee. Award Value: The program consists of up to four scholarships, each valued at $1,000.

Criteria
Eligibility is based on applicants’ connection to beef production, residency, academic standing, and membership in relevant beef organizations. Applicants must be Ohio residents, be at least one year out of high school, and be enrolled in at least their second year of a four-year college program when applying. Preference is given to students majoring in agriculture or beef-related fields, and applicants may receive the scholarship at most twice. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required.
Eligibility: Applicants must be children of beef producers or directly involved in beef production/promotion; either the applicant or a parent must belong to a local or state beef organization; applicants must reside in Ohio and meet the academic and enrollment requirements.

Method of Application
Application forms are available by request from Connie O’Connell or via the Ohio CattleWomen’s website. Completed applications, official college transcripts, a photo, and up to three letters of recommendation must be assembled and mailed together to the address provided. Selection Process
The scholarship recipients are selected by a committee appointed by the president of the Ohio CattleWomen’s Association. The committee reviews all complete application packets and may interview candidates when necessary to inform its decisions. Selections are finalized by the committee and announced at the Ohio Cattlemen’s Annual Meeting in January. The committee’s review focuses on eligibility, academic performance, and demonstrated engagement with the beef industry.

Method of Distribution
Scholarship funds are issued as checks made payable to the recipient. Presentation of the award takes place at the Ohio Cattlemen’s Annual Meeting in January. The association manages disbursement to ensure recipients receive funds appropriately.
