Overview
The Kent Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarships to help students pursue postsecondary education across many fields. These awards are intended primarily for students who have graduated from the Kent School District and cover study at two- or four-year colleges, as well as vocational, technical, and trade programs.

Online application process
All scholarship applications are handled through our online system. Applicants create an account and build a profile where they can save drafts and submit completed applications. The portal also lets you request recommendation letters and upload transcripts electronically. After completing the short eligibility quiz, the system will show the scholarships you are eligible to apply for. Who should apply (eligibility)
- Graduating seniors from the Kent School District. (You must have earned your high school diploma by the time any award is granted.)
- Plan to be enrolled for the next academic year in a full- or part-time program at an accredited two- or four-year college, or at an accredited vocational, technical, or trade school.
- It is possible to be eligible for more than one scholarship; you may apply to multiple awards if you meet each set of criteria.

Note: Students already attending college who plan to continue studies in a sports-related field are eligible to apply for the Thunderbird Community Sports Foundation Scholarship.

Fields of study encouraged
Students pursuing any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Education/Teaching
- Kinesiology
- Sports marketing; sports psychology; sports management
- Athletic training; physical therapy
- Business, accounting, marketing, advertising, management, customer service
- Economics, finance, human resources, consulting
- Engineering and other STEM fields
- Performing arts; fine arts; music; literature; film and television; drawing, painting, sculpture
- Trades and technical vocations: automotive, carpentry, culinary arts, welding, plumbing, electrician
- Health and technical certifications: X-ray or ultrasound technician, dental assistant, equipment operator
- Recreation administration, PE teaching
- Entrepreneurship and internships

Additional encouragement
Students who have been affected by cancer—personally or in their family—or who have overcome significant hardships are strongly encouraged to apply.
