Purpose
This scholarship aims to support minority students who are pursuing graduate-level training in archival administration and to promote greater ethnic diversity within the Midwest Archives Conference and the archival profession broadly.

Award
Two scholarships are granted each year. Each recipient receives $1,500 and a complimentary one-year membership in the Midwest Archives Conference (MAC).

Who may apply — overview
Both the applicant and the academic program must meet eligibility standards for consideration.

Applicant eligibility
- Applicants must identify as being of African, Arabic, Asian, Indigenous, Pacific Islander, or Latinx descent.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in or accepted to a graduate, multi-course archival administration program.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- If the archival program is not listed in the Society of American Archivists (SAA) Directory of Archival Education (http://www2.archivists.org/dae), the applicant must document that the program meets the multi-course requirement by submitting copies of course descriptions from the institution’s current departmental catalog.

Program eligibility
- Programs listed in the SAA Directory of Archival Education meet the multi-course requirement.
- If the program is not listed in that directory, you must supply course descriptions from the current departmental catalog to demonstrate the multi-course archival curriculum.

Application requirements and deadline
Applications must be received by March 1, 2025 and include all of the following items:
- Completed application form (PDF).
- Current résumé that lists education, employment history, campus or community involvement, membership in professional organizations, and any honors or awards.
- Transcript from the most recent academic program (unofficial transcript is acceptable).
- A personal statement (maximum 500 words) describing your interests and career objectives in archival administration.
- One letter of recommendation (the recommender may submit the letter directly).
